Between the two parts of Jarius' story, as Jesus and the crowd that surrounded Him were walking to Jarius' home, Jesus felt His healing power emanating from Him - received by someone in the crowd hidden among them.
She had been suffering for twelve years under the care of many doctors and was now broke - and her health was still declining. She believed what she had heard about Jesus, and her faith was such that she knew that if she could just touch His clothes, she would be healed.
Jesus knew exactly who had received healing and He knew exactly what she was healed from. But she needed to come forward and confess - so that the work of God might be displayed in her life (John 9:3).
Faith is not demonstrated in hiding or in secret. Faith is a public thing. What is faith if you're afraid to express it? It's not faith at all.
And Jesus role-played to draw her out, and when she came forward - trembling with fear - her faith was made complete in her confession. She told Him the whole truth.
Jesus made it official: "Daughter your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering" (Mark 5:34). Our faith has to be a public proclamation, too. Before your congregation in baptism, a public testimonial of what God has done for you, or simply going about your life, never neglect to acknowledge from Whom your strength comes.
